First they hopped on the 133 bus and went down by the familiar bridge on Sukhumvit 77. There they walked down the road and crossed paths with a bunch of mangy stray dogs, passed a little wood bridge and asked the boat man to go down the river. Communication can be challenging sometimes in this part of the city bare of tourists hordes, but the feeling of interacting with local people in an unfamiliar place is worth the challenge.
After 5 minutes waiting we climbed the long boat (see pic above) and set for a 40 minutes trip down the river.
Along the way the boat stops to take passengers in and out. On the way there, being "there"
the last stop, that I didn't know where that would be, the boat was pretty empty only 3 people hopped on and out, but when we arrived at the last pier, named Phra Kong or something like that, lots of people coming from work were waiting for the ride back to their houses, many built at the shores of that river.
It was quite interesting, but my butt hurt a bit when we returned to the hotel.
We also got some dinner before taking the bus home at one of the stalls near the bus stop, delicious noodle soup and rice with pork.
Don't ask me how, but I made myself understand exactly what I wanted, with no frustration involved.
i'm impressed! adventure looks amazing
